La Fête Champêtre — the countryside celebration — and this chair arrived ready to reign over one.
She began as a forgotten harpback chair with beautiful bones and nothing else to recommend her. Ten hours of careful restoration later, she has become something else entirely: a throne for a flower queen, painted in Sherwin-Williams SW 6718 Overt Green and reupholstered in Waverly Inspirations Bright Pink Peonies fabric, finished with a ring of white tassel fringe with silver banding that dances when she moves.
The carved harp back with its scrolled crown crest, the elegant cabriole legs, the ornate knee detailing — every surface was cleaned, prepped, primed, and painted to bring out what was always there. The seat was fully reupholstered and the tassel fringe hand-applied for a finish that is equal parts garden party and royal court.
She is bold. She is joyful. She is unquestionably French.
Place her at a vanity, a writing desk, or simply in a corner that needs a queen.
